Colorful sparkles abowe Budapest

fireworks from Citadelle

Hungarion version

Yesterday was the very first time I phtoographed fireworks from the top of hill Gellert. During the years before Citadelle was closed for health and safety. The former fortress on the top of the hill has been the main site where rockets were fired from. Usually all the surrounding area was off limits for viewers. Not so this year as the rockets this time were fired from boats on river Danube. This let me try a new perspective from the hill top during fireworks.

Lots of people gathered to view the show from there and since I was shooting another event in the other end of the city I got to the hill top a bit late to have a chance choosing my place. Resulting images are nevertheless good – it could be allways better but I have nothing to complain about. I love the view of the city from this angle but next year I will choose a different spot for the fireworks.
