Sled dog European Championships

without snow they pull carts on wheels

Hungarion version

Last weekend not far from Gyor, Hungary the village called Venek whose name means elders hosted this year’s Cart European Championship of the dogsled association FISTC. Because there was no snow in the whole country, all the competitors had to roll in carts. The four, three, two wheeled vehicles were pulled by four-six-eight or even more dogs what was a really strange thing to see on the Hungarian fields. What makes these races really special is the excitement and enthusiasm seen on the dogs when they got released at the start (where they have to be held back until the final moment to avoid an early start) then they pull their owner for 9-16 kilometres along the track.
