Adobe recently introduced the tablet version of their popular photo editing software Lightroom. The new application has a great emphasis on cloud based photo management, but you can try it without a Creative Cloud subscription.

It is daylight saving time again so this is my warning to remind you to adjust the clock in your still camera, video camera, GoPro cameras, DVD recorder, voice recorder and all the other devices too.
Interesting social experiment using the tools of photography and model retouching. Everyday women have been transformed into cover girls who in the end turned out not to like the result better. They actually prefer accepting their original look instead of the altered but fake one portrayed by the retouched photos. We just don’t know if they are really honest in this video.
More photographers had to be disqualified from the final of this year’s World Press Photo contest because their creators performed minor alterations despite both contest rules and industry standards forbid this.
The popular photo sharing website has been selling photos before as well, but they now plan to launch a photo agency service. Their slogan is “Accessing Talent” and they claim being the largest photography community of the world. Many of their users however think they joined those who devalue talent and they only want to rip off photographers contributing to the site.
Interesting news spread about a sponsor who wanted to mask out mobile phones made by its competition to make their advertisement more efficient on the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Their approach is interesting and the moral of the situation even more.
I only follow the events of the winter olympics from home but I don’t envy those colleagues who work on site in Sochi. Well, of course I envy their photos, but the tiring hard work and lots of challenges they face there is something I’m not envy for. My blog surely would stop if I would be shooting there. It already happened some times when I had a more intense work at hand.
Thankfully this is not the case with Jeff Cable who keeps posting from Sochi letting a snaek peek behind the scenes with it.
I disagree with the statement in the title but the recurring photographer layoffs and many comments suggest this. This time a journalist expressed his quite similar opinion. I think he just challenged his fate because it is a dangerous thing to start prove your boss that everyone can be replaced with cheaper workforce – they might believe you and take it serious.
UK publisher Johnston Press fires all their photogprahers working at their titles in England. Chicago Sun-Times had a sticky example followed by other companies – money…
I’m not a big fan of new year resolutions. However great habit it is for lots of people to make promises along with the change of the year. Some sense it still makes in the life of everyone.
